Semesters
Elementary terms are divided into two 18-week semesters.
Semesters allow our students additional instructional time in core areas such as Math, English, science and Social Studies. The semester system gives teachers a longer period of time to provide the kind of key core instruction necessary for student success, to gather the data and to monitor for emerging student growth. As an added benefit, the semester schedule will better align with the middle and high school schedules providing parents, students with aligned distribution of report cards schedules.
The Elementary school will provide interim reports, mid-semester, for those students who are struggling academically. In addition, we will also have a parent-teacher conference along with a student-led conference scheduled during the middle of each semester. For parents who want more frequent glances at their child’s progress, our PowerSchool parent portal software will allow them to view their student's progress at virtually any time and stay abreast of new data and associated grades changes and updates.
This is a list of great websites children can use to reinforce skills taught at school.
